I wanted to try a project that I had never done before, something different. Something that would get me out of my comfort zone and challenge me. Then I remembered a friend of mine that I meet during my Chile study abroad program, Ashley. I visited her in the states one year and she invited me to a cosplay convention. So, I decided I would photograph cosplayers as well as the vendors (product photography at the conventions. So maybe I’m doing two projects at once.

I got lucky for my first cosplay event, Fanatifest,  because it was just five blocks from my house! I was a good experience, meet interesting people, and learned a little about the cosplay community. I look forward to the next event. My goal is to create one Facebook banner for each cosplayer that I photograph.
